Burning, numbness, pins-and-needles, feet that ache at night — nerve symptoms wear people down. We look for the why first, protect what the nerves can’t feel, and use drug-free tools to calm what hurts. No overpromising, ever.

Most Insurance Accepted Same or Next-Day Visits In-Office, Non-Surgical Care

When People Call Us

Nerve symptoms rarely announce themselves politely. These are the stories we hear most.

🔥

Feet That Burn at Night

The day was fine, but the moment you lie down, the soles start burning or buzzing. Night-time nerve pain is one of the most common patterns we see — and one of the most treatable to live with.

🧊

“My Feet Feel Asleep All Day”

Numbness that never quite wakes up changes how you walk and what you can feel underfoot — including the injuries you don’t notice happening.

💊

Pills That Help but Fog

Nerve medications help many people — and leave some feeling dulled. Patients often come to us looking for something to add alongside, not instead of, what their doctor manages.

“It’s Neuropathy — Now What?”

A diagnosis without a plan is just a word. The visit is about turning the label into specifics: what’s driving yours, what’s protectable, and what can feel better.

Find the Why, Protect the Foot, Calm the Symptoms

Neuropathy is a symptom pattern, not a single disease — the plan starts with which one you have.

1

Find the Why

Diabetes is the most common driver, but nerve compression (like tarsal tunnel syndrome), certain medications, past chemotherapy, and circulation problems can all sit behind the same symptoms — and sometimes no clear cause is found. A compressed nerve behaves nothing like a metabolic one, so the exam sorts the treatable causes first.

2

Protect What You Can’t Feel

Numb feet get hurt without noticing. Skin and nail care, pressure-spreading custom orthotics, and the right shoes — protection is treatment, especially for diabetic feet.

3

Calm the Symptoms, Without Drugs

H-Wave electrostimulation and Class IV laser sessions in the office, aimed at pain relief, circulation support, and function — as an addition to whatever your primary doctor manages medically, never a replacement for it.

4

Reassess and Adjust

Nerve symptoms shift. We track what’s actually helping, adjust, and say plainly when something isn’t earning its place.

What We See Most

Different roads into the same symptoms — each with its own plan.

🩸

Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

Regular foot exams, skin and nail protection, pressure relief, and drug-free symptom care — coordinated with your primary doctor, who manages the diabetes itself. Our diabetic foot care page covers this road in depth.

Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome

The great mimic — a compressed nerve at the inside of the ankle that produces burning and tingling that gets called “neuropathy.” It has its own exam findings and its own treatments, which is exactly why the why matters.

💊

Medication & Chemotherapy-Related

Some medications and chemotherapy agents leave lasting nerve symptoms in the feet. We focus on comfort, protection, and function — alongside the physicians managing the underlying treatment.

🔥

Burning Ball-of-Foot Pain

Sometimes “neuropathy” in the forefoot is actually a neuroma — a thickened, irritated nerve between the toes with very different treatment options. The exam tells them apart.

Numbness Without a Diagnosis Yet

If nobody has yet told you why your feet tingle or feel asleep, that question comes first. We examine, test what podiatry can test, and help route anything that needs your primary doctor or a neurologist.

🫀

Circulation-Related Symptoms

Cold, discolored, or easily tired feet can mean the blood supply — not just the nerves — needs attention. When the exam points that way, we say so and get the right vascular eyes on it promptly.

Insurance & Coverage

Most sports injury visits — the examination, imaging, and standard in-office treatments — are billed to insurance like any other medical visit. We verify your benefits before care begins, so you know where you stand.

  • Commercial plans: The evaluation and common treatments for foot and ankle injuries are generally covered medical services. Coverage for specific items can vary by plan.
  • Medicare: Medically necessary foot and ankle care is generally covered for qualifying patients. We can review what applies to your situation.
  • HMO referrals: Most HMO plans require a referral from your primary care doctor before a podiatry visit. Call our office and we will help you start that process.
  • Self-pay & elective options: Certain elective therapies — such as PRP or birth-tissue allograft injections — are typically non-covered, self-pay services. We explain the cost picture clearly before anything is decided, and Cherry and CareCredit financing are available.

Call (760) 728-4800 and our team will verify your specific benefits before your visit.

What Neuropathy Care Can — and Cannot — Do

No office treatment reverses established nerve damage, and anyone who promises to cure neuropathy should worry you. What good care can offer: relief that many patients find meaningful, protection that prevents the complications numbness invites, and treatment of the treatable causes hiding under the label. On the evidence, stated plainly: a meta-analysis in Advances in Therapy — including manufacturer-supported research — reported that H-Wave stimulation reduced chronic neuropathic and soft-tissue pain, lowered pain-medication use, and improved daily function. For laser therapy in neuropathy specifically, the research is still developing, and we say so; many patients report it helps them, results vary by individual, and we track yours closely.

One thing that is never a wait-and-see: an open sore on a numb foot, spreading redness or warmth, or a foot that suddenly turns cold or gray is an emergency. Call us at (760) 728-4800 or go to the nearest emergency room.

What Patients Say

Selected reviews from patients treated for foot and ankle problems. Outcomes vary by individual.

Common Questions

Can neuropathy be cured?

Established nerve damage generally can't be reversed, and we won't tell you otherwise. What can change: pain levels, function, protection from complications, and any treatable cause the exam uncovers — a compressed nerve, for example, is a different story from metabolic damage.

I'm not diabetic — can I still have neuropathy?

Yes. Nerve compression, certain medications, chemotherapy, circulation problems, thyroid conditions and other causes exist, and some neuropathy never gets a clear cause. The evaluation is the same careful process either way.

What does H-Wave treatment feel like?

A gentle, rhythmic muscle-level stimulation — most patients find it comfortable, and some find it relaxing. No needles, no medication. Sessions happen in the office in Fallbrook.

When is numbness an emergency?

When it arrives suddenly, or comes with an open sore, spreading redness, or a cold or discolored foot — those need same-day attention, not a scheduled visit.

Tired of Burning, Tingling Feet?

Start with a careful evaluation. We’ll look for the why, protect what needs protecting, and tell you plainly what our tools can and cannot do for your feet.
