Insurance We Accept
From Kaiser Permanente and Medicare to most major PPO and HMO plans — we work with your coverage so you can focus on your feet, not the fine print.
Dr. Patish's office accepts most major insurance plans. Because every plan is different — copays, deductibles, prior authorizations, and referral rules all vary — the surest way to know exactly what your visit will cost is to call us at (760) 728-4800. We'll verify your benefits before you come in, so there are no surprises.
Now accepting Kaiser Permanente
We're glad to share that we now accept Kaiser Permanente plans. Kaiser members don't always have an easy time finding podiatric care outside Kaiser's own network — and when a referral sends you out, or you'd simply like to be seen sooner, we're here. As with any plan, your specific coverage and any referral or authorization requirements depend on your Kaiser plan, and we'll confirm all of that with you before your appointment. Just give us a call and we'll walk you through it.
Plans we work with
We accept most major HMO, PPO, and EPO plans, including:
- Kaiser Permanente
- Aetna
- Anthem Blue Cross
- Blue Shield of California
- Cigna
- Health Net
- Sharp Health Plan
- UnitedHealthcare
- Medicare
- TRICARE
- VA Health
Don't see your plan? We likely still work with it — this list isn't exhaustive. Call us and we'll check.
We do the legwork for you
Insurance is confusing by design. Our team verifies your benefits, makes the difficult calls, and handles the paperwork — including referrals and prior authorizations when your plan requires them. We've seen coverage confirmed by a representative only to be denied later, so we double-check before you're in the chair. You focus on getting better; we'll handle the rest.
Does Medicare cover podiatry?
This is one of the most common questions we hear, so here are the plain-language basics. None of this is a coverage guarantee for your specific situation — it's general information to help you understand how Medicare typically approaches foot care.
Does Medicare cover foot care?
Medicare Part B generally covers podiatry that's medically necessary — treatment of injuries, diseases, and conditions affecting the foot and ankle. Routine foot care (like basic nail trimming or callus removal with no underlying medical condition) is usually not covered, with some important exceptions below.
What about diabetic foot care?
If you have diabetes with related nerve damage or circulation problems, Medicare often covers foot exams and care that would otherwise be considered routine — because for people with diabetes, that care prevents serious complications. Diabetic patients may also have coverage for therapeutic shoes and inserts when criteria are met.
Does Medicare cover treatment for bunions, ingrown toenails, or heel pain?
Medically necessary treatment of conditions like bunions, ingrown toenails, plantar fasciitis, and heel pain is typically covered under Part B when a podiatrist documents the medical need. Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your deductible, the 20% coinsurance, and whether you have a supplement (Medigap) or Medicare Advantage plan.
How do I find out what my plan covers?
The most reliable answer comes from us checking your specific benefits. Call (760) 728-4800 with your Medicare information and we'll verify what applies before your visit.
No insurance, or your plan falls short?
We offer competitive self-pay pricing, and we've made it easier to spread out the cost when you need to. We work with Cherry and CareCredit for patient financing, and you can pay your bill online anytime. Ask us about options — nobody should put off foot care because of cost.
