Obstetrics & Gynecology
Referring to Fallbrook Podiatry
Pregnancy places significant biomechanical stress on the feet — weight gain, ligamentous laxity, and shifting center of gravity all contribute to new or worsening foot conditions. Fallbrook Podiatry provides safe, effective care throughout pregnancy and postpartum for conditions that fall outside the OB/GYN scope.
Conditions & Services
Plantar Fasciitis & Heel Pain
New-onset or worsening heel pain from pregnancy-related weight gain and ligamentous laxity. Custom orthotics, supportive footwear guidance, and conservative treatment safe for all trimesters.
Ingrown Toenails
Patients unable to perform nail care due to limited reach in later pregnancy. In-office procedures under local anesthesia — safe, quick, and same-day walking.
Foot & Ankle Swelling
Evaluation to differentiate physiologic edema from pathologic causes. Supportive strategies including compression, footwear modifications, and monitoring for complications.
Flat Feet & Arch Collapse
Ligamentous laxity during pregnancy can cause permanent arch changes. Orthotic support during and after pregnancy to prevent long-term biomechanical problems.
Biomechanical Support
Gait changes, balance concerns, and lower extremity pain related to shifting center of gravity. Orthotic fitting and footwear recommendations for comfort and fall prevention.
Postpartum Foot Conditions
Persistent foot pain, arch changes, or nail problems that developed during pregnancy and haven't resolved. Definitive evaluation and treatment after delivery.
